Today we will discuss the mobile strategy that will focus on the company itself, on the use of mobile devices by employees and the use of private mobile applications.

BYOD

For some years, the use of equipment by employees within the company where the work has been extended is what is known as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), and that translates as “Bring your device.” In the beginning, the highest percentage of computers was laptops. However, the use of tablets and mobile phones in work tasks is increasingly common.

The benefits for the company are a decrease in equipment costs and greater productivity because the employee manages a team that already knows and dominates and because accessing the company’s technological infrastructure from their teams can facilitate the adoption of more flexible work schedules through teleworking. From the employees, they use the equipment they have chosen; they do not need to charge with additional phones and tablets to their own and use the applications to which they are accustomed.

The other side of the coin shows the inconveniences related to security and privacy.

Security

The aim to create an android application [buataplikasi androidwhich is the term in Indonesia]and the use of mobile devices by employees within the company is a fact and is increasing. The question is not whether employees are going to use their devices, which they will do, but how and under what conditions they want them to. This is the information of the company and the devices of the employees. Therefore we must agree on the conditions that favor both parties. The norms of computer security in a company are like a medicinal pill; the bigger, the more reluctance the users will have to swallow it, and in the end, they will look for ways to avoid it. Therefore, a balance must be found that satisfies both parties.
